At King Richard III College in Mallorca (Majorca) we aim to promote the enjoyment of Mathematics by focusing on engaging learning activities and investigations to achieve the objectives of each syllabus. The Primary and Secondary staff work closely to track the teaching of Maths across the school, particularly when the pupils have taken their Year 6 SAT exams. This enables us to group the students into 2 teaching groups from Yrs 7 – 11 where a common core is taught, thus allowing movement from one group to the other.

A Level
Students studying Mathematics at this level can opt to take the AS level, which accounts for half of a full A level or they can take the full A level course over Years 12 and 13. We follow the Edexcel Modular Mathematics syllabus which enables students to resit modules in June in order to gain the best possible grades.
At KR3, we also offer a Further Maths AS and A level for the more able students, which can be studied in addition to A level Maths.
The students prepare 3 modules for AS and 3 for A2.
Further Maths is taught by all 3 maths teachers and the modules tested are:
FP1, M1 and D1 at AS
FP2, FP3 AND M2 at A2.
