Ethos

If you were to ask the parent of a child King Richard III College why they choose to send their child to our school, they would tell you it’s because their child feels happy and secure learning with us. They would say that their teachers are caring and professional and that the school community is warm and close-knit.

At King Richard III College we embrace the individual needs of every student and work closely with parents to ensure that these needs are supported. Combined with academic excellence where the curriculum is tailor-made to suit each child, King Richard III College nurtures well-balanced, empathic and intelligent young people who can excel in their future professions.

We expect our students to aim high with the support of our experienced and committed teachers, who are skilled in bringing out the best in every child.

KR3 is more than a school; it is a community where ex-students return to enrol their own children, hoping to pass on to their sons and daughters the complete lifelong educational experience that is King Richard III College.

Facilities

King Richard III College is situated in a privileged location in the village of Portals Nous just 10 minutes South West of Palma. With the beautiful Oratorio beach right at the end of the road, many classrooms enjoy sea views. The school is easily accessed from 4 entrances in the quiet residential neighbourhood. In the grounds there is a picturesque playground with football and basketball courts, picnic benches, gardens and trees providing shaded areas.

King Richard III College has excellent on-site facilities with 28 classrooms distributed around 4 main buildings.  In 2020, new lifts, bathrooms and disabled access were installed around the school.

In the dining room block, the members of our excellent kitchen crew prepare a varied menu of fresh, delicious meals on site every day in our modern kitchen. School lunches are provided by the college from Reception to the end of Year 11.

Two fully-equipped science laboratories allow all three sciences to be offered up to A Level, with the extra course in Marine Science being added in Year 12. An impressive ICT room houses the latest in technology and an art studio with dark rooms for photography inspires young artists with views over the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.

Adjacent to the school is a sports ground with both outdoor and indoor facilities. For sport lessons, a private bus takes our students to our off-site facilities which include an indoor pool, sports centre, athletics stadium, sailing club and equestrian centre. For our impressive musical productions and events such as Prizegiving, we use a beautiful 350 seat theatre in Paguera .
